To Mrs. Ayre and family:

John was an amazing man who positively influenced so many people with his charm, wit, and warmth.  The wonderful smell of his pipe smoke from my childhood days with him on the boat in Houghton Lake will forever be in my memory. He was a cherished friend of my parents, who had so many wonderful times with them from Ireland to Alaska, and everywhere in between.  They are now glad to welcome him on his final journey home.
