Leone Beth Appell

Leone B. Appell, age 84, passed away unexpectedly on October 5, 2017. She was the loving wife of Ralph Appell for over 30 years and mother of Alisa (Keith) Mullins. She is also survived by Ralph's children; Kathryn (Christopher) Laraway, Nancy Appell and Jane (Scott) Spees, grandchildren; Lauren (Nick) Davaloz, Josh Mullins, Michael (Meredith) Laraway, Bryan Laraway and Trevor Spees, great grandchildren Sloane and Cabot Laraway, and her sister Valerie Wilson.

Leone enjoyed reading mysteries and gardening. She had a sharp sense of humor and a welcoming smile that would always light up the room. She was a graduate of Alma College and had a Masters Degree and a Specialist Degree in Education from Michigan State. Leone went on to teach elementary school in Alma and at Alma College as well. She later became a Principal in Ithaca and Coopersville. Leone loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Services were held for the immediate family.
