

Tony initially joined the Air Force in 1952 and then enlisted in the Army in 1957 where he served several overseas tours in Far East Asia and Germany. During his 31 years in the US Military he received numerous awards and commendations including the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medals and the Bronze Star. After retiring in 1983, Tony spent the next 25 years working as an analyst for the National Security Agency as a civilian. His wit, charm and sense of humor were well known throughout NSA, Tower Federal Credit Union and the Commissary on Ft Meade. For more than six years he could be found volunteering at the concession stand at Meade Senior High School, supporting his three girls and all of their friends.
“Frapaw”, as he has been known for the last twenty years, took great pleasure in spoiling all of those around him. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, a caring grandfather, a loyal friend and a very funny man who looked out for and fed every person, dog, squirrel, rabbit, raccoon and bird he came across. He is survived by his wife of 47 years Sharron S. Wiederle, his daughters Wendy Singleton and husband Tom, Romy Scott and husband Rob, Stacy McCormack and husband Jim, and Terry Hunter. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Emily, Natalie, Kody, Keegan, Kelsey, Cayley, Lilly, Riley and a host of loving family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, 7250 Washington Blvd., Elkridge, MD on Thursday, May 23, 2013 from 3-5 p.m. & 7-9 p.m., where the service will be held on Friday, May 24, 2013 at 11 a.m. Interment service will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors.
