Charlotte Johnson passed away on January 18, 2026, in Baltimore, Maryland. She was born on July 3, 1944, in Maryland to Russell William Church and Alice Marie Church (née Chaffman).
Charlotte was the beloved wife of the late William Bradley Johnson, Sr. Together, they built a life centered on family, self-reliance, and resilience.
She was the devoted mother of William Bradley Johnson, Jr. (“Brad”) and his wife Edna, and a proud grandmother to Cody James Hardin Johnson. Charlotte also shared close and loving bonds with her many nieces, nephews, and their families, all of whom held a special place in her heart. She was affectionately known to many as “Peanut.”
Charlotte was one of nine siblings, all of whom preceded her in death.
Strong-willed and fiercely independent, Charlotte took great pride in caring for herself. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her family and especially cherished boating with her husband on the Chesapeake Bay, often visiting Hart-Miller Island. She also treasured the time spent with her brother Bill and his wife Ann prior to his passing. In her quieter moments, Charlotte enjoyed gardening, spending time outdoors, and savoring life’s simple pleasures, including crab cakes and crabs, pizza with Canadian bacon, and proudly cheering on the Baltimore Ravens.
Memorial contributions may be made in Charlotte’s memory to the American Cancer Society (Cancer.org) or the American Kidney Association (Kidney.org).
