

David James McGuire, age 86, of Dundalk, Maryland passed away peacefully on March 1, 2024. Born on March 9, 1937, he spent his life committed to his family and proud of his career as a firefighter. Beloved son of Lafayette James and Sarah Blanche McGuire; devoted father of Randi Tur and David McGuire Jr., along with their spouses, Edward Tur and Emma McGuire; loving husband to Elaine McGuire; dedicated and loving grandfather to Anthony Tur, Brooke Pirotte, and Fallon Tur; caring great-grandfather to Ethan Tur, Rhys Pirotte, Ryan Pirotte, Carley Burkindine. Also, he is survived by many nieces, nephews, and their spouses.
He is predeceased by two brothers, Paul McGuire and Lafayette McGuire Jr.; three sisters Kitty Fraizer, Sara Legere and Mary Shipley, along with their spouses; and stepson Wade Poteat.
David, a remarkable individual, cherished his family above all, with a special fondness for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His love extended beyond humans to include animals, particularly dogs, which brought him immense joy. Renowned for his sharp intellect, he was a gifted mathematician and took pleasure in unraveling the intricacies of numbers.
In the realm of leisure, David found solace in the beauty of poetry and the challenge of riddles. His musical palette was diverse, but he held a special place in his heart for the Eagles and Conway Twitty. Cars fascinated him, and he found joy in the freedom of the open road, embarking on a memorable cross-country road trip.
The beach, especially Ocean City, held a special allure for David, and he created cherished memories by taking his children swimming in state parks. A man of simple pleasures, his favorite breakfast consisted of corned beef hash and fried apples. In the kitchen, he showcased his culinary skills by crafting the most delectable chili.
David's life was a tapestry of experiences, passions, and love, leaving an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to share in his journey.
