Born on August 3, 1931, in Illinois, Eldon was the beloved son of the late George and Vivian Caulk (née Cox). He proudly served his country as a cook in the U.S. Navy, where he developed a lifelong love of preparing meals for others.
Eldon was the devoted husband of 70 years to Frances B. Caulk. Together, they built a beautiful life and family. He was the cherished father of Karen Chande and her husband Al, Linda Phillips, Cindy Laberinto and her husband Lou, and the late Stephen Caulk. He was a loving grandfather to Alison, Nicole, Ronnie, Matthew, Bradley, and Lindsay; great-grandfather to Madi, Faron, Stephen, Anabelle, Rosemarie, Kegan, Summer, Perry, Oliver, and Porter; and great-great-grandfather to Stella, Easton, and Victoria. He was preceded in death by his siblings Carl, Marshall, Clifford, and Lillian.
Eldon had a vibrant and joyful spirit. He enjoyed bowling, telling jokes, and relaxing with a cold Pabst Blue Ribbon. He loved McDonald’s hamburgers, crab feasts on his birthday, and cherished his tradition of eating steamed and fried shrimp at Christmas. An avid griller and chocolate lover, he never turned down ice cream, pudding, or cake. He found joy in music—especially Neil Diamond, polka, and country—and he was a loyal fan of the Baltimore Orioles and the Baltimore Colts.
Eldon and Frances shared a love of travel, especially cruises to destinations like the Bahamas, Bermuda, Mexico, southern coasts, and Europe. Above all, Eldon loved his family deeply and was happiest when surrounded by them.
He will be remembered for his warmth, humor, and the love he gave so freely.
