George Simon Jr.

George Simon Jr, 86, of Westminster, Maryland, died peacefully Friday, January 24, 2025 at BridgingLife-Dove House with his wife and his daughter by his side. Born August 25, 1938 in South Baltimore, he was the son of the late George Simon Sr and Dorothy Riedel Simon. He was the husband of Gerardine “Gerry” Dente Simon, to whom he was married for 61 years.

George was a graduate of Southern High School and the first in his family to complete college, earning his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Baltimore. George retired from the Baltimore Gas and Electric Company in 1993 after more than 35 years of service in various administrative positions, including supervisor of credit and collections. George was known for his dry sense of humor, his love of a cold beer, and his appetite for good pasta. He enjoyed sitting in the sun on his porch or at the beach, shooting pool with friends, watching football, and listening to the Rolling Stones. Above all, he was known for his devotion to his wife, daughters, and grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to his wife are daughters, Janet Schreck and husband Matthew of Westminster, Maryland and Leanne Price of Abingdon, Maryland; grandsons, Joshua Price, Alex Schreck, and Christopher Schreck; and granddaughter, Gabriella Price.

At George’s request, funeral services will be private. The family will host a celebration of life at a later date.
