Isaiah Oludayo Olugbemi was born on Saturday, November 16, 1996 to Elder Diekolu and Deaconess Idowu Olugbemi at Brooklyn Hospital, New York City. He was the fourth of six children. Isaiah, popularly known as “Zay” rededicated his life to Jesus in 2021 at Christ Apostolic Church, Chosen Youth Ministry and did not look back until his untimely death.
Isaiah attended PS219 Elementary School, Brooklyn, New York until December 2006, when his family relocated to Odenton, Maryland. He would later complete his elementary school at Odenton Elementary School. He then moved on to Arundel Middle School where he played and excelled as defensive tackle (D-line) in football and competed in playoffs during his time. He graduated middle school in 2011. He attended Arundel High School, Gambrills, Maryland where he graduated in 2015. While in high school, Isaiah participated in different sporting activities and won several medals. Isaiah was on Arundel’s high school varsity team for wrestling, football, track (four by one), and shotput. He won the county championship medal as a sophomore in track in 2013. Isaiah later got a full scholarship in wrestling and football to Wayland Baptist University where he attended for a year.
In 2021, Isaiah found a new sport and fell in love with it – thus his boxing career began and blossomed. He was laser focused and poured his heart and soul into it; training three times daily with an eye and heart aimed to the absolute top. As a boxer, he won several championships including; Novice Golden Gloves in 2021, Qualified for Olympic elimination Tournament 2023, Local Regional Golden Gloves 2023, and Local, Regional, National Golden Gloves 2024. Isaiah was on his way to professional boxing career with promising future.
The most exciting season in Isaiah’s life was when he became a father. Zayden Inioluwa Olugbemi brought so much joy to his life. And he was a devoted father who loved his son and was proud to show him off to the whole world. He also loved his family and being around them. Isaiah loved to eat and was not afraid to try any random food combination others would consider weird.
Isaiah was the life of the party. He loved to play and loved life. He was a fierce competitor, a jokester, a great person who loves to make people happy. Isaiah has a big infectious laugh and his laughter will make you burst out laughing whether you want to or not. Isaiah Loved music, especially old gospel songs.
Isaiah’s life was an epitome of God’ love. He touched every life along the way positively, never held grudges, quick to forgive, kind, and warm hearted towards everyone. He lived a very short but fulfilled life because he knew God and was proud to declare the salvation of his soul and his dependent on God publicly without any reservation.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing” 2 Timothy 4:7-8 NKJV
