Jeannette Louise Rosensteel (aka Jeanne Steele) 88 of Hampstead, Maryland, formerly of Stuart, Florida. and Baltimore, Maryland passed away on May 10th, 2023 at Carroll County Hospital. Born September 20, 1934. She was the daughter of the late Robert J. Rosensteel Sr and Anastasia T. (Tighe) Rosensteel. Jean was a graduate of the Institute of Notre Dame. She was a professional singer, who was Miss Maryland in 1956-57. She also sang with Fred Waring and the Pennsylvanians, and appeared in many other shows with Lucille Ball, Bob Hope, Red Skelton, George Burns, Jack Benny and Tony Bennett.
She is survived by her sisters, Joan Jira and Ann Shoul( R Carroll Shoul Sr) and many nieces and nephews: L Joseph Jira, Patricia Hafner, Diane Mastrangelo, Jeanne Lenham, Carol Ann Ray, Denise Dodson, Russell Shoul Jr, David Shoul, Robin Miskelly, Kate Stroh and R Joseph Rosensteel III, and many other nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her brother Dr Robert Rosensteel Jr.
A memorial Mass will be held at St. Bartholomew’s Church in Manchester, Maryland at a later date and Interment will be private.
Donations may be made to St. Bartholomew’s Church or St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
