Joan M. Compher was born February 11, 1938 in Baltimore, MD to William H. Sheckels and Dorothy M. Sheckels. She is survived by her three children, Janet Compher, Rob (Karen) Compher and John (Debbie) Compher. Her three children brought her seven grandchildren, Brandon (Brittany) Compher, Marissa Dreisch, Ryan (fiancée Stacy) Dreisch, Courtney (Dan) Waters, Nick Compher, Jackson Compher and Matthew Compher, and four great-grandchildren, Noelle Dreisch, Kayleigh Zhen, Payson Compher and Cohen Compher. Joan’s family was the biggest love of her life.
Joan enjoyed her career in interior decorating, furniture sales and real estate. She spent much of her retired life water-color painting and walking the mall. Joan was known to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as “Grammy”. She enjoyed spending time with them whether it was shopping, build-a-bear trips, holidays or just quality time together.
Joan will be dearly missed by her friends and family.
A family graveside service will be held at Meadowridge Memorial Park Cemetery on Saturday, September 12th. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Pathfinders For Autism, Seasons Hospice or Alzheimer’s Association.
