

John was born on March 12, 1946, at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, MS to Ruby and Floyd Martin. John experienced many places as his father was in the Army Air Force where his father was stationed in various places. He lived most of his life in Broussard, LA before joining the Air Force following in his father's footsteps being stationed at Keesler AFB and married his high school sweetheart in June 5 1965. Later, the couple would have twin boys while stationed at Kessler AFB.
He moved his family to Severn, MD in 1969 where he worked for Westinghouse/Northrop Grumman over 40 years. During this time they had their daughter. John was a humble, loving husband of 57 years, was always ready to help in any way he could, and he was beloved by all. He enjoyed family time camping, traveling, playing board and card games, etc while finding time to volunteer as a Cub Scout Committee Member, Little League Umpire, and Assistant Scout Master.
He was survived by his wife Theresa, his son George and his wife Donna along with their son Michael, son James, and daughter Sharon and her husband Eddie along with her son Sean Martin. John was preceeded in death by his parents Ruby and Floyd, and Alex, his grandson to George and Donna who passed away earlier this year.
Pallbearers are Sean Martin, Eddie Gregor, Jimmy Gregor, and Keith Francis.
Honorary Pallbearers are Michael Martin, Alex Martin, George Martin, James Martin, Larry Przyborowski, and Wayne Huffman.
A visitation for John will be held Wednesday, March 15, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, 7250 Washington Blvd, Elkridge, MD 21075. A funeral service will occur Thursday, March 16, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home. Burial to follow.
