

On Thursday, September 21, 2017 June Celeste Zink (nee Hilgartner) passed away at the age of 93 after five years in skilled nursing at Encore Turf Valley in Ellicott City, Maryland. The first 30 years of her life she lived in Catonsville, Maryland. From there she lived in Rhode Island, Hawaii (Oahu), Tennessee, and Iowa before returning to Maryland in 1979. She loved sharing with others her adventures and joy of living in Hawaii and Iowa.
She was a most loving mother to her five children - Dianne Shipler, Judy Weeter, Bob Harmon (“Katherine”), Alan Zink (“Diane”), and Laurie LeBlond (“Michael”). Beloved grandmother to seven grandchildren - Blaine Shipler (“Kim”), Kim Weeter, Kristin Shipler (“Kent Matthies”), Kelly Shipler, Kevin Shipler, Stephanie Buchtel (“Scott”), and Matthew O’Neal. Great-grandmother to eight great-grandchildren – Jessica Beard (“Jonathan”), Rebecca and David Shipler; Jonathan, Jacob, and Jack Buchtel; and Micah and Ellis Matthies. Sister to Leonard Hilgartner (“Betty”) and the late Thelma Kerins (“late Edward”). Survived also by several nephews and one niece.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her name are appreciated to her favorite charity “Operation Smile.”
She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her, but comforted and happy for her that she is now in the presence of the Lord.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park., Inc., 7250 Washington Boulevard, Elkridge, MD 21075 (exit 6 off Rt. 100 south) on Saturday, September 30, 2017 from 10:00 to 11:00 am where a Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 11:00 am. Interment Meadowridge Memorial Park, Elkridge, MD.
