Kirk Thomas McNeeley

Kirk was a skilled and dedicated electrician who took great pride in his work. Known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail, Kirk spent the last four and a half years with Hirsch Electric, LLC, where he was every subcontractor’s go-to, get-it-done guy.

Beyond his profession, Kirk was a loving husband to Zulema Canales. He was passionate about working out and working on his beloved “Red Dragon” Mustang which he took great pride in restoring. Some of the happiest moments in his life took place on the beach and boogie-boarding in the ocean, most often in Ocean City, MD. Kirk enjoyed watching movies, eating crab legs and shrimp, and rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers (much to the chagrin of the many Ravens fans on his job sites). He also found great joy in playfully teasing family and friends, revealing the softer side to his tough exterior.

He is survived by his wife, Zulema Canales; his parents, Kevin and Marcia McNeeley of Columbia, MD; his three siblings, Paul (Sarah) McNeeley of Natick, MA, Matt (Sasha) McNeeley of Lutherville, MD, and Tara (Daniel) Burgess of Hahira, GA; his children, Alex Chiavetta (Scott), Jordan McNeeley and Falon McNeeley; and his nephews and nieces, Landon McNeeley, Quinn Burgess, Josie McNeeley, Madi Burgess, Abby McNeeley, Livvy McNeeley and Evie McNeeley; his grandchildren, Madelyn Chiavetta and Thomas Chiavetta; and many aunts, uncles and cousins who he spent countless hours with during his childhood. He is predeceased by his long-time partner and mother to Jordan and Falon, Nancy Sikora.

Family and friends are invited to gather at Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, Inc. 7250 Washington Blvd., Elkridge, Maryland 21075 (Exit 6 South off Route 100) on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 from 4:00 - 8:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Interfaith Center, 10431 Twin Rivers Road, Columbia, Maryland 21044 on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at 10:00 am. Interment Meadowridge Memorial Park.
