

Mary Frances Panella, affectionately known as Fran, age 76, of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025. Born on June 14, 1949, Fran was the beloved daughter of Mary Agnes Lansinger and Joseph Dean Lansinger. Fran leaves a legacy of love, faith, quiet strength and devotion to family which will live on in the hearts she touched and the beautiful memories she created with her family and friends.
Fran was a talented bookkeeper whose career spanned a variety of interesting roles and industries including at the Social Security Administration, A&P, Frederick P. Winner and later at Maryland Sound International, where her attention to detail and dedication made her a valued colleague. Beyond her professional life, Fran was a classically trained pianist who studied at the Peabody Conservatory. Her love for music was deep and varied, from Beethoven to the Beatles.
Family was the most important thing in her life and her love of and devotion to her family was deep and enduring. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Richard Panella, her daughter, Amy Panella Ossi (Gregory) of Chevy Chase, MD, and her treasured grandchildren, Gabriel, Mary Alexa, and Carver Ossi, who brought her endless joy and pride.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament, 5949 Western Ave. NW, Washington, DC 20015. Relatives and friends may call from 10am until 10:45am, with the Mass beginning at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial donations in Fran’s name to the American Lung Association.
