Uncle Matt, I really miss you. Sometimes I just want to pick up the phone and give you a call, but I know you're gone. Thank you so much for everything you were. Anything good in me, I learned from you, Grandma Jo, and Grandpa Jim.  You three were my closest family besides my mom.  You always loved me, were always there for me, and blessed my life incredibly.  I am so blessed to have been able to know you. I'm sad my children will never get that honor, but I hope I can pass along your memory and your amazing spirit.

To the family of Matt Hayhugh,
I met Matt thru my husband Troy Cartwright while he and Matt worked together at Montgomery Ward in Laurel, MD.  Troy and I enjoyed Matt's company both as an employee at Wards and socially outside of Wards.  Matt was one of the technician's who kept my daughters car running as she seemed incapable of checking and keeping fluids in her car during high school.  Matt was a wonderful guy, we enjoyed many cookouts as his home and also enjoyed a few footballs games as well.  Your family is in my prayers.  Matt will be missed by all of us and we have many great memories in our hearts about Matt Mayhugh.  He will be sorely missed.  BJ Cartwright

We have fond memories.  Loved having you visit us from time to time.  You always remembered to call us on our birthdays, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc...we'll miss you, Matt, and we'll miss those visits and phone calls. Now that you're resting in the arms of God, you know that God loves you...and so do we.

I'm going to miss you, cuz.  I'm glad for the time we got to spend together in recent years.  You lived life on your terms, and you always spoke your mind.  I respected and admired that about you.  Tell Uncle Marty hello for me. Love you.

Mr. Matt, I've inown you since the day I was born. Even though they caused you a black eye from me when I was two, I will miss your "whaaaz up" from you. I have no idea how we are going to get through live on Avondale without you, it surely isn't the same. I hope you enjoy a "beer with Jesus" and please watch over us. Rest in Peace Mr. Matt. RIP Matt. I will miss seeing your always smiling face. I could always count on a friendly "Hey young Lady" every time we said Hello. You will be greatly missed by our family. Avondale Street won't be the same without you.
