

Nancy Carol Cleopha Voltz Henkin passed on November 6, 2024.
Nancy was born to Leo James Voltz and Jane Boyle Voltz on February 18, 1941, in Butler, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Knoch High School in 1959 and graduated from Carnegie Mellon University (previously Carnegie Institute of Technology) in 1963. On July 18, 1964, she married her college sweetheart, David Eli Henkin.
She was predeceased by her husband of almost 48 years; her parents; her brother Leo Voltz; her sisters Diana Voltz Geibel; Pamela Voltz Murdock; Susan Voltz Vadnal; and Jane Voltz.
She is survived by 5 children: Michael Henkin (Misty) of Frederick, Maryland; James Henkin (Lisa) of Odenton, Maryland; Anita Henkin Kerns of Bowie, Maryland; Mark Henkin (Jeanette) of Bowie, Maryland; and Eric Henkin (Kathy) of Laurel, Maryland.
Nancy was a proud grandmother to 13 grandchildren: Taylor, Michael, Samantha, and Nicholas Henkin (Michael); John Kerns, James Kerns (Katie), and Deborah Kerns Mullin (Jackson) (Anita); Tyler, Marcus, and Erin Straley (Mark); Hayley and David Henkin (Eric); and Brendan Goodson.
She was delighted to be a great-grandmother to: Hazel Kerns (James); Nolan Goodson (Brendan); Oliver Euceda and Mason Henkin (Hayley).
She is survived by her brothers: James; Ramon (Carolyn); John (Judy); Randolph (Gail); Carl (Lucinda); and her sisters: Joanne Thiele; Margaret Hanna (Ronald); Jacqueline Booher (William); and Cynthia Miller.
She is also survived by a host of multi-generational nieces and nephews.
Nancy taught Spanish at Kittanning Junior High School, second grade at Thomas S. Stone Elementary, and first grade at James McHenry Elementary School.
She enjoyed reading, crocheting, photography, and playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service for Nancy will be held Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Meadowridge Memorial Park, 7250 Washington Blvd, Elkridge, MD 21075.
