Robert Keith Kannenberg of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away suddenly on October 27, 2024 at age 60 as a result of COVID 19 complications. He is survived by his mother, Mary Ann (nee Walters); father, Robert; sister Karen (Dennis A. Seifert, deceased); brother Marc (Carolyn Schroder); nephews Andrew, Matthew (BethAnn), Christopher (Anna), Gregory and his significant other and soul mate Jennifer Eckert. Bob is also survived by Winston, his feline companion.
Bob was a versatile musician, highly regarded throughout Baltimore as a guitar player, singer, and songwriter. A dedicated employee at NASA’s Goddard Space Center, Bob supported their mission for more than 30 years. In addition to music, Bob enjoyed cycling through Patapsco Park, workouts at the YMCA, and fine food and fun times with family and friends. Bob's wit was as sharp as his frisbee arm, and his sense of style was legendary!
Family will receive friends on Sunday, November 10, 2024 from 1 – 3 pm at Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home, Elkridge, MD. A memorial service will take place at 3 pm. Colorful ties, pocket squares, or scarves will be appreciated. Bob’s life will also be celebrated in Ohio in the near future.
In lieu of flowers, the Kannenberg family suggests spending an evening out listening to live music, enjoying a few rounds of pinball, cheering on the Cleveland Guardians, or thinking about Bob while you enjoy fireworks. Donations in Bob’s memory may also be made to Sharp Dressed Man sharpdressedman.org (250 W. Dickman St., Baltimore, MD 21230) or Neighborhood Pets neighborhoodpetscle.org (3711 E. 65th Street, Cleveland, Ohio 44105).
