Santina "Sandy" Adele Caperna Jordan, 99 of Glen Burnie, Maryland, passed away peacefully at home on January 5, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Santina was born in Baltimore, MD on April 25, 1922, to the late Luigi and Adele Caperna. She loved God, she loved life, and she loved her family. At 19, she married her one love, the late John ‘Dutch’ Jordan, and devoted her life to him and creating a warm and inviting home for their family. Together, they had two children, Joyce Corcoran (Brian) and John Steven Jordan (Rhonda). Her family was rock solid and secure, a cup overflowing with love from within. She was a devout Catholic, rarely missing Sunday morning mass sitting in the first pew. Sandy raised her family to love deeply and serve the Lord. She retired from the catalog department of Sears, Roebuck and Co.
Santina was a devoted Mommom to her six grandchildren: Donna Anderson Stewart (Robert), Jennifer Anderson (Jeffrey, fiancé), Tiffany Jordan Wilkinson (Andrew), Justin Lee, Danielle Lee Colby (Brian), and Kristen Jordan. She knew each one intimately and poured her love out to them. She blessed them with her smile and laughter, instilled in them her strength and fighting spirit, and taught them the joy of dancing and shopping.
Mommom was blessed with seven great grandchildren: Jessica, Samantha, Cassandra, Caiden, Faith, Sawyer, and Logan, plus baby Colby on the way, and one great-great grandson Lucas. Even as memory and recognition failed, the presence of children always brought a glowing smile that exuded the joy and love in her heart.
Santina was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her greatest joy came in serving others, most often with her family gathered together to share a big pot of “Mommom’s Spaghetti.” She had a full life, well lived and richly blessed with loving family and friends. She will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents and husband, Santina was predeceased by her siblings Lena, Moody, Gene, Vincent, Alex, and her granddaughter Kristen.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, January 15 from 9:00AM-11:00AM at Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, 7250 Washington Blvd, Elkridge, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at noon, St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church, 5976 Old Washington Rd, Elkridge, MD. Interment at Meadowridge Memorial Park.
