Stewart "John" H. Mayes, age 84, of Columbia, Maryland passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2023. Devoted Husband of 24 years to Nancy Mayes; Dear Brother to Robert Mayes and Ray Mayes; Predeceased by Loving Parents Stewart C. and Amanda Mayes.
Stewart H. Mayes, fondly known as "John" by many, was an avid sports fan, especially the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens. John had a long career working for the government, but in his leisure time, he enjoyed playing tennis, and was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus and American Legion.
A funeral service for John will be held Friday, March 17, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Resurrection of Our Lord Church, 8402 Brock Bridge Road, Laurel, MD 20724. Interment Private.
