Wayne Longley Stewart

Born in Baltimore, MD, Mr. Stewart was the son of the late William Thomas Stewart and Beulah Irene Stewart.

Mr. Stewart was a member of the Garden City Baptist Church in Garden City, SC; American Legion Dewey Lowman Post 109 in Maryland and was a lifetime member of the Lafayette Masonic Lodge in Baltimore, MD. Although he never served in the military, Mr. Stewart was a diehard patriot who loved his country. He was an avid historian who loved reading and was a sports fan of the Baltimore Ravens and Orioles.

Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Margaret Stewart; son, Wayne Lee Stewart , Murrells Inlet, SC; daughters, Carolyn Prince, Ijamsville, MD; Cathy Johnson, Murrells Inlet, SC; Dawn Suski; Pasadena, MD; Joyce Penn, Bowie, MD; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, March 10, 2014 at Meadowridge Memorial Park Cemetery with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service at Kaufman Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2090 Executive Hall Rd., S-130, Charleston, SC 29407.
