

William (Bill) Roland Korb passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on April 18, 2025, at the age of 67. Bill was born on November 13, 1957 in Glen Burnie, Md. He is survived by his fiancé, Barbara Scherer of Catonsville; daughter, Patricia Coleman (Joseph Coleman) of Ellicott City; step-children, Audrey Scherer of Denver, CO and Henry Scherer of Halethorpe; grandchildren, Finley and Nash Coleman; sister Susan Resavage (John Resavage) of Linthicum and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Berner and Audrey Korb, brother Robert (Bob) Korb, and step-son Stuart Scherer.
Bill was a life-long resident of Ferndale. Throughout his life, Bill held many roles and wore multiple hats in different industries, mostly in transportation. In his early years, Bill worked for Thrifty Rent-A-Car and was a Nationwide Insurance Agent. He moved on to become the Sales Director for Industrial Service Contractors and then worked for a large trucking company, eventually becoming President of the company. He was the Vice President of Product Development at Maryland Brush Company and in February 2025 retired from ET Smith & Sons/Wizepa, Inc.
Bill was a member of Ferndale United Methodist Church and of the Men’s Club there. He was also a member of the Cape St. Claire Jaycees, Sportsmans Social Club of Arbutus and the Ferndale Community Club. For a number of years, he was an officer of the Mail Contractors Association.
Since his boyhood, Bill was a devoted Orioles fan and enjoyed Baltimore Baysox games with his grandsons. Bill was drawn to the ocean after spending many summers visiting family in the Outer Banks. In his free time, he enjoyed camping at the beach and in the mountains. In the warmer months he could likely be found by the pool and spending time with his friends and family.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the American Liver Foundation (ALF). ALF’s mission is to promote education, advocacy, support services and research for the prevention, treatment and cure of liver disease.
