She was born Linda Jane Larson on September 6, 1946 in Boise, ID. She spent her youth in Twin Falls, ID and graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1964. She attended the University of Idaho, graduating in 1968. While in college, she met her husband of almost 45 years, Jerry Decker. They were married in 1968 and have two children.
Linda dedicated her life to family and helping others. She was always concerned about the well being and comfort of those around her. She was a loving wife, supporting her husband in career and community. She devoted much of her time and energy raising two wonderful children, Kim and Mark. She loved cheering on her children and other family members in their various sports, educational and artistic pursuits. Linda was a devoted grandmother and her two grandsons will grow up missing their adoring “Grammy”. At various times, Linda taught English to foreign students, tutored children with learning disabilities, spent several years at the Ellensburg Children's Activity Museum and was active in service to Grace Episcopal Church. She was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority and PEO Chapters in Twin Falls, Boise and Ellensburg. She was an avid golfer, or hacker, as she liked to describe herself.
Linda had a beautiful smile, an extraordinary sense of humor and above all, she was a wonderful friend. She never met a stranger. She was the family's great communicator and was lovingly referred to as the "Grammar Nazi."
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Bert and Donna May Larson, a sister, Julie Rene, close friends Darlene Nelson of Burley, ID and Janie Hewitt Harris of Boise, ID.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry; children, Kimberly (Desmond) Clark of Dallas, TX and Mark (Emily) Decker of Mesa, AZ; grandsons, West and Bridger Decker; brother, Larry (Maria) Larson of Sandpoint, ID; brothers-in-laws Fred (Neta) Decker of Twin Falls, ID and Ron Rene of Jocotopec, MX; and many loving nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the staffs of Family Health Care of Ellensburg, Kittitas Valley Community Hospital, Virginia Mason Hospital, Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital, North Star Lodge, Frontier Neurosurgery, KVCH Home Health and Hospice, Hospice Friends, and Royal Vista Care Center for their care and devotion to our Linda.
