Very fond memories from MHS with Mrs. Pete, I have thought of her often.  I am sadden to hear of her passing.. ((hugs)) to her family.

Mrs. Pete was one of my favorite teachers at MHS. She introduced some great books into my life that left a lasting impression.   She had great warmth and smile and will be missed.

Mrs. Pete, you were one of a kind. When we were between ag teachers one summer, you and Fred stepped forward to lead the FFA to the Fair. I enjoyed our visits in the years that followed when I would be on my way to Boise or points east. I do hope when my time comes you will put in a good word for me... I think you are better connected than I these days. I pray that we will meet again someday and that you are pain free and happy again.

I am going to always remember that wonderful smile that Mrs. Pete had.  She was truly a wonderful woman; always there to help someone and encourage them whenever it was needed.  Not only was she was teacher; she was a friend who will be missed by many.  My thoughts and prayers go out to her family during this difficult time.

Mrs. Pete was an awesome teacher.  Thanks for teaching me what I know.  You will be missed so much.

I heard of Jo's passing from a former student who described her as "a truly great woman", and I agree 100%.  Even though she made such a mark by influencing so many students, I'll always remember her kind guidence to me as a beginning teacher many years ago. She had a way of putting things into perspective and being able to focus on what really mattered; always the well-being of her students. I'll always remember and be thankful for the lessons that I learned from Mrs. Pete. My sympathies to her family in their loss.

You were one of my favorite teachers at MHS. I always felt valued and important when I was in your class. You will be missed Mrs. Petersen. May you rest in peace and know how much your students loved you!

What a wonderful woman! She was someone who would always give of herself and help build you up, never bring you down...she was more than a teacher during my time @ MHS, she was my friend. Jo is the first person I think of when I reminisce about my high school days. She made this world a better place!

How you are gonna sooo be missed. One day we shall meet up again and hopefully not in your principles office :) I adored you as my teacher and having a nice chat walking down the hall to class. 
You are one teacher many students have fond memories of and will NEVER forget!!

You were my shining light when I was at my darkest. You opened a world for me that no other person could. You saw inside of me and you made me feel as if I were the only one that mattered. You showed me a love unconditionally without malice or prejudices. You wanted nothing from me except that I love you back. That I grow,that I believe in myself as much as you believed in me.You asked about me, my family, my life and you hung onto every word, every picture. You gave me life when I didnt feel I was deserving of one. You were always there for me. There was never a time you werent there. It gave me comfort to know I had you. You even helped me to write that poem for our yr book when I was afraid to because it was "well,it was ME,the dumb kid" You made sure it went into our annual. You were proud of my achievements when no one believed in me. You were my Mother, my friend, my mentor, my advisor. You were always a phone call away. Not once did you NOT love me. You trusted me with your inner most secrets,you cried with me, you hurt when I hurt, you laughed when I laughed, you helped me to climb more mountains then I would have thought possible.  All you asked for in return was for me to just love you. I never saw disappointment in your eyes, not even when I dropped out of college. You told me,"it was ok if I wasnt a Doctor" to pursue other interests. You supported my decisions and we talked. I will love you forever and a day Jo. I will miss you so very much. When you are looking in on us from time to time I hope you are proud. Iam so blessed having had so much of YOU. I was proud of having you so closely inter-twined in my life. I will surely miss you as I would miss the sun shining. You have taught me so much, but most of all you have taught me to trust how much love you held. I was the blessed one having had so much of you. What will I do without you? I will always have you in my heart and a part of my soul. I wish you were here......

Mrs. P was a wonderful teacher and mentor.

Mrs. P. was one of the best, she made us all better people just being around her.

Mrs. "P" was more than a teacher, she was a real friend, and guided many of us down the right path even though there were many "U" turns!!

Mrs Pete you will souly be missed, you are one of the best teachers at Meridian ever, You were also a friend to many of us... Thanks for being in my life, thanks for all the kind words and thanks for busting me in the girls Bathroom for smoking and not being so hard on me, I love you, and know you love me 2..... Mrs. Pete was warm, loving and she truly cared about all of her students... her smile could light up a room and she always was patient and kind no matter what... she will be missed.. Her students at Meridian high will always love her and cherish their memories of her..
