

Born in Fairfax, Oklahoma on July 9, 1936, he moved to Washington in the 1960s to work as an engineer for the Boeing Company. He married Barbara in 1970, and settled in Bellevue. After retirement, they moved to Ellensburg, where Richard earned a degree in Gerontology from CWU. He volunteered for local social service agencies, and was active in his church. Richard enjoyed outdoor activities, especially at his cabin near Forks, Washington.
Richard is survived by his wife of 41 years; daughter Diane; son Ryan, daughter-in-law Sara, and three grandchildren; and brothers Bob and Harry.
The family invites you to join them for a celebration of his life at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 8, 2012, reception following, at the First United Methodist Church of Ellensburg (210 N. Ruby St.).
