Cloise Norman Woods passed away on December 14, 2020 at the age of 79, at his home in Parrish, Florida. His battle with cancer in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, he rarely complained. His mind was sharp until the end and couldn’t stop telling his family how proud he was of them.
He was born and raised in Jasper County, Ill where he grew up in simple and humble surroundings. This country setting is where some of his best stories came from where he would talk about black panthers chasing them in the dark and running to school barefoot and stopping at warm cow pies to warm their feet.
After high school, he moved to Chicago to find work. He eventually found his calling and became a skilled tool and die maker. He finished his working career doing what he loved as a farmer.
Chicago is where he met the love of his life, Jaqueline (Jackie) Howe, while hanging out at a social club he and his friends had created. It was love at first site and they adored each other for 51 years until Jackie passed away in 2017. His legacy left to his family is showing them how to unconditionally love your spouse.
He is survived by sons Ron and Joy Woods of Naples Florida, Chuck and Chrys Woods of Ankeny Iowa, and Rob and Diana Woods of Parrish Florida, 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Even though dad will be greatly missed here on Earth, we are sure it was a spectacular reunion in heaven with mom!
