David G Junka

Dave was a designer. He was Curator of Franklin Park Conservatory and Garden Center in Cleveland Ohio for at least twenty years, where he was also an active member of the Central Ohio Orchid Society. He organized and set up displays for numerous orchid shows sponsored by that Orchid Society. He was recognized with many awards and articles in local papers there.

He was also a senior judge for the Florida North Central Judging region, and traveled all over Florida judging orchids at regional and club shows, winning many Flower Quality and Horticultural Awards along the way. He bred many hybrids that are still in demand today. He was also longtime president of Manatee River Orchid Society and Naples Orchid Society.

After his career days, Dave kept his design skills sharp helping a local florist and bringing people's dream jewelry to life.

Ask anyone who knew Dave about him and they will tell you they remember the special plants he brought them and the cards he sent, and how he always wanted to know how he could help and to show you tricks about growing plants. So many will miss his expertise and friendship.
