Donald Raymond Hritz

Donald R. Hritz, age 79, died Friday, Decmeber 30, at his home in Ellenton, Florida. Born on February 23, 1937, he was the son of Joseph and Theresa (Kozlowski) Hritz. He is survived by two sisters, Lillian Virginia Makarewicz of Davison, Michigan and Dorothy Agnes Major of Littleton, Colorado. He also leaves a brother, Joseph Robert Hritz of Sarasota, Florida. He leaves behind nieces Janis Greenlick, Cathleen Pingot, Ellen Makarewicz, Bethany St. Clair, Denise Orin, Sandra Hritz, and Terri Eartly; nephews, David Makarewicz, Jeffrey Major, and Christopher Major.

Mr. Hritz attended All Saints Elementary School and St. Michael’s High School in Flint, Michigan. He retired from Flint AC Spark Plug Division after working there many years and moved to Florida. He was a member of the Palmetto Florida Moose Lodge #2117 where he enjoyed time with his fellow members. He enjoyed time spent with family and trips to Michigan in the summer. Funeral arrangements are being made by Groover Funeral Home, 1400 36 Ave E., Ellenton, FL 34222. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 9, 2017 from 1- 3 PM at Groover Funeral home in Florida. Funeral Services will be held by Hansen Funeral Home in Davison, Michigan. Interment will take place at New Calvary Cemetery, Flint, Michigan.
