ADAMS- Ellen P. (Schwendtner), 55, of Palmetto, FL, formerly of Bethpage, NY passed away on July 30, 2016. Survived by her husband Jim and Abby (family dog), loving daughter of Elizabeth (Betty) Schwendtner. Preceded in death by her father George Schwendtner. Sister of George Jr. (Mary), Diane Schwendtner, and Lisa Ciccolella (Vincent). Adoring aunt of George III and Jim Schwendtner, Vincent, Nicole and Anna Marie Ciccolella, Samatha Wesner and Shawn Williams. Also survived by her in-laws, Jim and Emma, sisters-in-law, Penny, Candy, Melody, Sherry, Emmy Jo, brothers-in-law, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and aunt and uncles. Special relationship with the Flaherty family. Special colleagues and special friends too numerous to mention. Ellen was employed for 25 years with Manatee County Rural Health Services. She served as a Vice President of Accreditation and Quality. She graduated from Molloy College in 1982 with a BS in Nursing. Ellen's hobbies included fishing, scuba diving, boating, and picnics at the beach, baking, cooking, traveling and spending time with family and friends. She was happiest when she was helping or doing things for others. Ellen was caring, hardworking and lived each day to the fullest, striving for each day to be better than the day before. She will be greatly missed and her spirit will live on forever in the lives she touched. Visitation services will be held on Friday, August 5, 2016 at Groover Funeral Home located at 1400 36th Ave. E, Ellenton, FL 34222 from 4:30- 7 PM. A mass of Christian Burial will take place at Holy Cross Catholic Church located in Palmetto, FL on August 6, 2016 at 11:00 AM In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: MD Anderson Cancer Center P.O.
