"Always looking forward in your honor" Now I'm leaning on this phrase to try and get me through the loss of my own son, Josiah. 

Even though it's been about a year and a half, it still hurts sometimes. Me and Ricky had so many amazing memories. The time he taught me to skate (although i'm not very good at it), and when he came home from the army, I was so happy. He was an amazing person that basically made me want to be the person I am today. Someone who makes people laugh and spreads kindness to anyone who needs it. He was not just my silly older brother, but my favorite person. I remember almost crying when I heard he was moving into his own house. I love you, Ricky, and i'll always miss the fun times we had together.

I didnt know Ricky. I happened upon his memorial and     read about him; smiled and teared up, sensing how he passed. All too familiar. My heart aches for Ricky and those who love him. 

Ricky's brother wrote; "Always looking forward in your honor"..  That's how we don't crumble.

A true gift to this world and gone much too soon, you always had a way of bringing humor to any situation with all sorts of jokes, laughs and smiles. I still look to you for guidance through god. You were one of my first soldiers and my go to guy when a job needed to be done. I will carry your memory with me until we meet again in the gates of heaven. I love you with all my heart brother. Always looking forward in your honor. 

Friday was one tough day. It was the last time seeing someone that was important to not only me but my family as well. Anyone who knew Rick and I, would think that we hated each other, simply because we are just two stubborn, hot headed people...but we really didn't. He was always a helping hand and a funny guy. He always listened to my stupid stories even when he didn't want to. He was at all of my competitions and would be the first person to tell me I either did a really good job, or he would be the first person to ask me "hey Mal, where you supposed to fall like that?" He used to always get onto me about how I slept to much and would come into my room and ask me while I was sleeping or asked me what I did during the day or why I felt like it was normal to take 3-4 hour naps, eat dinner and then go back to sleep. He would call me randomly and ask me how my day was, usually following with him cracking some type of joke on me. He was easy to bribe with hot Cheetos puffs and a 6 pack, which is how I got him to put my shelves up when we moved into the new house. He told me at my graduation that we could hug each other and it would be okay because it was a special moment but after that we would never speak of it. He was the king of ugly shirts and nobody could tell him any different, or to go change... mainly because that was all he wore and hated to get dressed up. I still feel as if this Sunday you'll be walking through the front door in one of your ugly shirts, joggers and your flip flops. You were my pal, and for that thank you. I love ya, pal and i'll miss you.... rest easy...

Honestly, I don't even know how to go about typing this because it still doesn't seem real, I feel like I'll get up the next day and it'll all be over...I lost someone very near and dear to my heart. You were my best friend, as much as it used to bother you when I said that, my person, my partner in crime. You sang Kodak songs to me, took pictures and were okay with being weird. You never failed to make someone laugh, you always lended a helping hand to anyone who asked. You were a grumpy old soul and everyone around you loved it. You couldn't sleep without having your foot touch me. You watched animal documentaries and trailer park boys like there was no tomorrow. You always joked about how I was boiling noodles cause my shower water was too hot. You lived life to the fullest. You cared for people with such a huge heart. You were the best doodle dad around. You are the KING of ugly shirts and swore that it was a trend setter. You were one of the only people who could call me Kathryn and get away with it. You dropped my keys down a 6ft post and fished them out all before a wedding. You ate my food even if it was gross and not your thing because you knew it would make me happy. And you put hot sauce on EVERYTHING. You were the person who never wanted his haircut because you wanted to bum it. "Fun fact Kathryn, the people under the bridge have it made Kathryn". "Florida is the most beautiful state in the world" "Kathryn...come on now Kathryn" You are Eric Thomas Donahue Jr. You will be more than loved and missed by many. I don't know where to start. Eric, i'm so sorry I wasn't there more. I'm sorry I was selfish and caught up in my own stuff to talk to you, or anyone. 
I remember when we dated all those years ago. You would write me letters from basic and I really wish I still had them. I remember when you called me from basic and I screamed when I saw your name pop up on my phone. We started talking again and we talked about our past, present, and future. You were the best conversationalist. I'm so sorry I didn't talk to you more because whenever I did I forgot about everything else in the world. 
I loved you then and I love you now.

So I had a friend from high school who was ALWAYS there for me. He was so funny and so nice and literally could make you smile with just his facial expressions. He actually tried reaching out to me a few days ago...but me being so bad at communication, I didn't respond and now look. He's gone. RIP Eruk. I'm so sorry for not responding, I really am.. you probably just needed a friend. I could've been that friend that could have stopped you...but I would've never thought you'd do this and leave so soon. I love you. Rest easy my love.

You had a big heart funniest kid I ever met we always had a good time laughing jokes when I was having a bad day or just needed someone you always knew how to make the day better. Wow. Just heard about a long time pal who is resting easy now. Great personality, funniest person i ever met and whats crazy is he could have goofed off and done as he pleased with his young life but instead he went and enlisted. I mean im in shock. You made sure people wer smiling and feeling good all the time. Since 7th grade that what I remember so much was that he was funny. I wanted to make everyone laugh and smile as much as he did. Great guy man honestly. Thank you for ur inspiration to love everyone and bring as much joy to everyone as you did. And thank you for serving for our country big dawg.
