He is survived by his wife Sandra L. Davis; children Jedon Tanner Lilliston, Kathy Rex, Diane Davis, and Joe (Jody) Davis; step children Carole Fisher, Melissa (Rick) Barnes, Tricia (Jim) Wexstaff, Angela (Yassine) Bliel, and Lynda Wrenn; 16 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter; and siblings Stanley (Donna) Davis, Kenneth (Charlene) Davis, Bowman (Jane) Davis, Bessie Skinner, and Francis Davis.
A Memorial Service was held at 1st United Methodist Church of Palmetto on September 25, 2010. Joe was cremated, and his ashes scattered over water.
Arrangements were under the direction of Mansion Memorial Park and Funeral Home, Ellenton, Florida.
