John Paul (J.P.) Huffman, much loved husband, father, step-father and brother, passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021. Born in Rathmel, PA to Richard and Golda Mae Huffman on February 21, 1940, he was raised and spent the first half of his life in the Warren, Ohio area, moving to Bradenton in 1978. J.P. was always an auto mechanic, doing what he loved, from his teens on, teaching at Kent State University for a period of time. He was in the Army Reserves for six years. His hobby while in Ohio was piloting his Piper Cub and Cessna 150. He also did a stint as a DJ here in Sarasota.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara, sons John, Timothy (Joyce) and David, daughters Janine (Aric) Wynkoop, Beverly Huffman, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, step-daughters Stacy Jarrell, Koreen Lewis, Kitten Linderman, 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, sisters Dolores Murphy and Karen Minton. He is predeceased by his parents, Richard and Golda Mae Huffman, brother Dick Huffman and first wife Marie Huffman.
