Kathy was an empathetic person who made friends wherever she went, including the His Girls thrift store, where she volunteered, even as she suffered severe health issues. Her longtime friendships went as far back as elementary school. In her youth she had been a Girl Scout, involved in school plays, a rifle twirler and a clarinet player in the Palmetto High School band.
Later in life she lived a number of years in the Atlanta area, and in Citrus County in Florida before returned to Manatee County, which she considered home. She was a longtime associate of Wal-Mart and had been in food service for a number of years at the Ringling School of Art and Design. She had attended Keiser University and was a passionate chef and baker.
Kathy was many more things in her life – an artist, a crafter, a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, niece and cousin, but her best and favorite roles were that of Mom and Grandma.
She was preceded in death by her father, Michael A Couch I. She is survived by her son, Andrew Bohn and wife Jessica of Cheyenne, WY, and their three children, James, Scarlett and Violet; daughter Alessandra Couch of Palmetto; mother Sandra Couch of Palmetto; brother Michael A Couch II of Bradenton; sister Cynthia Cannon and husband Freddie of Palmetto; one nephew, one nieces, five great nieces and one great nephew.
A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
