Marilyn passed into glory on March 24, 2022. She was the fourth child of Harold Miers and Tyla “Hazel” (Glass) Miers.
Marilyn was united in marriage with Don Edward Cabbage on February, 2 1958 at the Church of Christ parsonage in New Market, Iowa. Their union was blessed with five daughters: Terri, Robin, Vicki, Tracie, and Beth.
Marilyn was tasked with many moves as her husband advanced in his career. Sixteen moves in nine different states! One move blessed them with the opportunity to live in Cardiff, Wales for 18 months. This adventure allowed them to travel Europe, fulfilling her dream of seeing the Swiss Alps. Marilyn held many jobs through the years to contribute to the family income, however she was first and foremost a loving wife, a devoted mother, and an amazing homemaker. Marilyn preferred a private life as she poured herself into her family and home. She loved the Lord, prized a clean house and spotless laundry, enjoyed embroidery, was a fabulous cook, and found peace and tranquility in her beautiful garden of flowers.
Marilyn is survived by her 5 children: Terri Evans of Apollo Beach, FL, Robin Maxey of Lithia, FL, Vicki Grows and husband Richard of Cedarburg, WI, Tracie Brown of Sheboygan, WI, and Beth Bailey and husband Chuck of Lithia, FL; 18 grandchildren: (Terri’s children) Alex, Rachel, Evan, and Isaac (Robin’s children) Chelsie and TJ (Vicki’s children) Richie, Ben, Alissa, Giles, Grace, and Faith (Tracie’s children) Sarah and JD (Beth’s children) Jacob, Hannah, Gabe, and Emma; 19 great grandchildren; 3 siblings: Donna Kelso, Diane Peterson, and Darrell Miers ; sister-in-law Jan McClarnon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
