Mary Lee Brooks

Mary Lee Brooks, age 94, of Madeira Beach, Florida passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025. She was born on July 11, 1930 in Ellenton, Florida. After high school, she married and had her two children she cherished. In 1973 she married the love of her life, Dr. Harry S. Brooks where they joined both families making them a forever bond and household. Harry and Mary Lee loved traveling and seeking new adventures together.

Mary Lee retired after 40 years with GMAC and continued to serve her community as a volunteer at Lee Memorial Hospital in the gift shop, where she assisted with bookkeeping. She brought so many smiles to her family and many friends. Mary Lee was deeply devoted to her family and will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 40 years, Dr. Harry S. Brooks; parents, Henry and Alma Pigott and son, Carl "Butch" Henson.

She is survived by her loving daughter; Pamela (David )Phillips; step daughter, Susie (Ronnie) Riggs; step daughter- in law, Dawn Brooks; grandchildren, James (Crystal) Henson, Jenny (Bill) Oliver, Jesse (Jenni) Henson and Casey Ruiz; step grandchildren, Carrie (Rich) Soto, Stephen (Heather Marie) Brooks, Josh (Angela) Riggs. She also is survived by her 12 great grandchildren and 2 great great granddaughters.

A graveside service for Mary will be held Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Groover Funeral Home at Mansion Memorial Park, 1400 36th Ave E, Ellenton, FL 34222.
