Richard Alan Chenoweth, age 61, of Palmetto, passed away Wednesday, February 11 with his family by his side. A manatee county native, Rick served his community as a law enforcement officer for over 37 years with service at Palmetto Police Department and most recently with Manatee County Sheriff's Department. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald. He is survived by his mother, Vivian; step-father, Buddy; son, Scott; daughter, Amber; son-in-law, Justin; granddaughters, Aubrey and Jocelyn; sister, Suzie; brother-in-law, Steve; and his law enforcement family. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Feb. 17th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. with Funeral services on Wednesday, Feb. 18th at 2:00 p.m. at Groover Funeral Home, 1400 36th Avenue East, Ellenton, FL.
