Richard moved to Palmetto, Florida in 1974. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1954- 1973 and retired. Richard continued to work after his retirement from the Navy for the Circuit Court from 1974-1976 and then with the Manatee County Sheriffs Department from 1976-1984.
He was very involved with multiple organizations in the area such as the Palmetto Masonic Lodge #110, Palmetto, FL; Past Worth Patron O.E.S. #88, Palmetto FL; Manatee Shrine Club and many more.
Richard was the past President of the Noble Ground I00F Bradenton and Manatee Coin Club.
He is survived by his wife Millicent Riley of 32 years.
A graveside service with military honors for Richard will be held Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Mansion Memorial Park, 1400 36th Ave East, Ellenton, Florida 34222.
