Roderick Olds Johnson Jr.

Roderick “Rod” Olds Johnson, Jr., 67, was welcomed into heaven by His Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, December 27, 2020. Rod was born November 12, 1953 in Bradenton, Florida and was preceded by his father, Roderick “Roddy” Olds Johnson, Sr., and his mother Faye DeSear Johnson.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Janet Cobb Johnson of Palmetto, FL; his children, Roderick “Derick” Olds Johnson, III of Ellenton, FL; Mary Elizabeth Johnson of North Fort Myers, FL; Timothy Stephen Johnson of Palmetto, Florida; 3 granddaughters, Ellie, Sarah Grace, and Elizabeth.

Rod graduated from Manatee High School in 1971 and received his Bachelor of Science degree from University of South Florida. He was a member of West Bradenton Baptist Church. Rod was employed as a Safety & Health Officer, and was responsible for Quality Assurance/Quality Control for Aptim. Rod enjoyed gardening and was an avid fisherman, but more importantly, he loved spending time with family and friends.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2020, with services to follow at 11:00 a.m.
