Shirley Howard Maugherman

Butch passed away June 13, 2016, he was born July 17, 1952, in Battle Creek, MI. He moved to Manatee County in the early 80's where he began a wonderful life. He retired after many years of professional painting. He enjoyed working with his hands and could create almost anything out of wood. He loved fishing but will forever be remembered in the community for his elaborate Christmas decorations. He was preceded in death by his parents Dwelley and Margaret (Govier) Maugherman of Battle Creek, MI; 3 brothers, Gary (Dottie), John (Rose), and Mike (Marjorie) Maugherman. He is survived by his wife, Aileen O'Brien Maugherman of Ellenton; step daughter, Dawn O'Brien Meador of Ellenton; 5 grandchildren, Sarah Stites of MI; Hayley Brantley of Sarasota, Paul Meador of Ellenton; Alex and Even Randolph of Ellenton; his brother Ron (Carol) Maugherman of Bradenton; 3 sisters, Maribeth Sanford, Iona Rose & Kathy Williams, of Battle Creek MI; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends. He was dearly loved and will be missed by many. He was taken way too early but he left us with many loving memories. A Memorial Service will be held at Groover Funeral Home located at Mansion Memorial Park, 1400 36th Ave E, Ellenton, FL 34222 begining with a viewing at 1pm followed by the Funeral Service at 2pm, Monday, June 20, 2016.
