Travis Neil Heacock Sr.

Travis N. Heacock ,Sr., 86, of Sebring, Florida, went home to the Lord Thursday, May 4, 2017, after a long illness. He was born and grew up in Sebring, Florida. He served in the US Army from 1951 to1953 after which he worked for the Department of Transportation in Sarasota until his retirement in 1983. After being residents of Sarasota for most of their lives, Travis and his wife Barbara moved to Sebring and enjoyed living in their own home until Barbara’s death in 2006. Travis remained in his home enjoying the family fellowship and loving care of his son and daughter until his death. Travis enjoyed fishing and time with family and friends. He was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his daughter Patrice Heacock and his son, Travis Neil Heacock, Jr; grandsons Army Sgt. Cody Lipke and Travis N. Heacock lll; sister Nancy Heacock Hensley , all of Sebring, Florida; and sister-in-law Benni E. Heacock of Lakeland, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents Ford and Martee Heacock, his wife Barbara, his grandson Richard James Lee and his brother Ford W. Heacock, Jr.

Services will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at 10:00 A.M.in the Chapel at First United Methodist Church in Sebring, Florida,with Rev. David Juliano officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Mansion Memorial Park in Ellenton, Florida. Arrangements are under the direction of Groover Funeral Home at Mansion Memorial Park.
