William E Thomas

William “Ernest” Thomas, 79 years old, passed away February 9, 2022. He was predeceased by parents William Downs Thomas and Laura Josephine Foreman Thomas and grandson William Sean Thomas. William Ernest Thomas graduated from Manatee High School and served in the United States Air Force. He was employed by National Cash Register, now known as NCR Corporation and later employed by Tropicana. In 1966, he married Marcella Elaine Cliburn and they made their home in Bradenton, FL. William Ernest Thomas enjoyed woodworking, fishing and spending time with family and friends. A long-time member of Samoset 1st Baptist Church, he served as Deacon and Royal Ambassador Director. A much loved, well respected and devoted Christian. William Ernest was known for his gentleness, compassion, determination and willingness to help others. He is survived by his wife Marcella Elaine Thomas, sister Barbara Louise Staugaard, brother - in - law Harold Wayne Staugaard, his sons Denny Wayne Thomas and William Dwayne Thomas, daughter - in - law Kimberly Ann Thomas, and his grandchildren Kevin Duane Thomas, Eliana Noelle Thomas and Robert Ethan Thomas.

A memorial service is being held at Samoset 1st Baptist Church, Saturday February 26th, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. with visitation 30 minutes before the service.
