Jeffrey Clement Halloran was called home on January 11th at the age of 66. A cherished father, beloved son, and proud grandfather, Jeff lived his life deeply rooted in family, faith, community, and an extraordinary capacity for love.
Born on October 17th, 1959 to William Joseph Halloran and Colleen Beth Halloran, Jeff grew up alongside his sister Jill, forming the importance of family that would define him throughout his life.
He was big-hearted, warm, and endlessly playful, always willing to go all in to make someone smile. From wearing a long hippie wig to match his daughters on Halloween to being the main character in all of the imaginary worlds his grandkids created—from dinosaurs to princesses to spies—Jeff loved boldly and without embarrassment.
Jeff served a mission in Japan for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints that deepened the faith that would guide his life. He later studied finance at Brigham Young University in Provo, building a strong foundation in business and leadership. After graduating, he spent many years working at Wyroc alongside his father, eventually becoming CEO.
Raising four daughters, Jeff embodied patience and devotion, proudly wearing his “I heart my girls” t-shirt. As the quintessential girl dad, he spent hours gently brushing out knots, untangling jewelry, and offering gentle reassurance. He would do anything for the people he loved, even the long drive to LAX at 2am, simply because he knew the drive would provide extra precious minutes with his loved ones.
Jeff was adventurous by nature. From learning Japanese for his mission, to teaching himself how to sail on the open ocean, to camping trips where he proudly made his famous Dutch oven peach cobbler, he brought a sense of fun and childlike curiosity to everything he did. He also taught those around him to appreciate life’s smallest wonders like the beauty of rocks and rock tumbling, insects, and the simple art of slowing down. Even his famously slow driving, complete with chimes hanging from the rearview mirror, became a gentle reminder to be present and enjoy the journey.
Helping others was Jeff’s greatest source of joy. He truly had every tool imaginable and an unmatched ability to build, fix, and create. He could turn a closet into a bedroom even Harry Potter would have loved, and a home touched by Jeff was a home filled with his generosity. From bookshelves to planters and everything in between, his handiwork was a quiet expression of love.
Jeff defined his life by faith and community. He served in leadership within the church he loved, waking up before 5 a.m. as a seminary teacher to share his faith with youth. He also served on the board of the Chamber of Commerce in Laguna Hills, organizing events like car shows and celebrating small businesses—work that was inspired by his pride in owning and building a business alongside his father.
Jeff is survived by his mother, Colleen; his brother, Chip; his partner, Darla; his four daughters with Dianne Day: Jennie (Eric), Katie (Preston), Olivia (Eric), and Caroline (Elijah) and his four beloved grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, William Halloran, and his sister, Jill Halloran.
Above all, he had the biggest heart and always showed up for the people he loved. This world is a better place because of him. In his memory, may we all love like Jeff.
