Bertha Mae Jones

JONES, Bertha Mae, age 91, of Dayton, Ohio went to be with Jesus on July 2, 2011. She is survived by a daughter, Rhonda Samson, and one granddaughter, Laura Samson, of Dayton, along with several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Richard Jones in 2007, a brother Cletis Cooper and a sister Katherine Blount. She attended college in Minneapolis, MN, at North Central Bible Institute receiving a certificate in ministry. Along with pioneering several churches in Arizona prior to marriage, she was also a retired minister having served as a pastor for 15 years in Springfield, Ohio. Her career also included work for the Air Force civil service, teaching piano, and many church administrative roles. Bertha received her ordination through the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel. Her family will receive friends at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME ENGLEWOOD CHAPEL, 675 West Wenger Road Saturday, July 9, 2011 starting at 12 noon, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM with Reverend Edward Harvey presiding, a graveside committal will be 1:00 PM Monday, July 11, at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
