Donald McGlone

MCGLONE, Donald E., 68 formerly of Englewood, passed away peacefully Monday, January 26, 2015 with his family at his side. Donald is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years JoAnn (nee Kiss) McGlone, daughter Michelle, son and daughter-in-law Jeff and Holly McGlone. Also surviving are three grandchildren Abbigayle, Joseph and Emily Hodge, brother and sister-in-law Michael and Barb McGlone, sister and brother-in-law Patricia and David Wentz, many nieces, nephews and his grand-dogs Lawrence and Eugene. He was preceded in death by his parents Elroy and Mary (nee Sommer) McGlone and sister Jean McGlone. Donald was a US Air Force Veteran, former member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and a member of St. John’s Catholic Church. Don loved life and it’s challenges. He loved God and family. He and his wife did everything together. His pride and joy was his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed traveling, gardening, creating and building. Race car driving was his passion. Don learned to fly a plane, was owner - operator of his semi - truck, managed the Hickory Bar - B - Que on Brown Street. He loved helping others and hoped he would influence others by the way he lived, always giving 110% to all he did. There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends Saturday, January 31, 2015 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 830 Bowen Street, Dayton starting at 9:30 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am with Fr. Scott Wright celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME ENGLEWOOD CHAPEL.
