J. Richard Troester

Troester, J. Richard age 96, of Friendship Village in Dayton, Ohio, passed away April 10, 2013. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Phoebe (Bowen) and Brothers Donald and James and Sister Marjorie. He is survived by children Diane Troester Edwards (Bill) of Panama City, Florida, Thomas Troester (Diana) of Granger, Indiana, and Linda Gaede (Edward) of Pleasant Hill, California, 5 grandchildren William James Zehner(Catherine), Angie Troester Trujillo (Rafael), Jeffrey Troester (Katy), Joseph Randolph, and Matthew Randolph, 5 great grandchildren, Kathryn Zehner, Zachary Zehner, Gabriel Trujillo, Rowan Troester and Leif Randolph. Richard is also survived by very special friends Louella Haines and Eileen Kelly. Richard Troester was a native of Sidney, Shelby County, Ohio and graduated from Sidney High School and Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. He retired from Sherwin Williams Company, Cleveland, Ohio where he was a Tax Manager, having previously been employed as Controller for Lowe Brothers Paint Company in Dayton. His professional associations included a member for 50 plus years and past president Dayton Chapter and National Director of the Institute of Management Accountants, former member of the Institute of Property Taxation, National Association of Property Tax Representatives, National Association of Assessing Officers and Ohio Public Expenditures Council. During retirement he did accounting for the Ombudsman Office and was a former president of the downtown Senior Citizens Recreation, as well as president of Friendship Village Residents Association. He was also a member of Friends of Aullwood. Richard’s family will receive friends at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME ENGLEWOOD CHAPEL, 675 West Wenger Road, Monday April 15, 2013 starting at 10 am followed by a celebration of his life at 12 noon.
