

BIBBS, John Dervis, 73, of Trotwood, passed away peacefully Friday, October 30, 2015, at home with his wife at his side. John leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 43 years, Levada (ne’e Landrum) Bibbs, one stepson and his wife, Steven Curtis and Gloria Brooks, one stepdaughter Linda Levada Brooks, one sister Mary Avis Simmons, three brothers and two sisters-in-law; James K. Bibbs, Leon and Debra Bibbs, and Homer and Lynda Bibbs, three grandchildren; Jeremy David Brooks, Phillip Christopher Brooks, and Shanelle Morea Brooks. He was preceded in death by a stepson, David Leon Brooks, two sisters, Demarius Brandon and Lucille May, two brothers, D. Solomon Bibbs and Roy Bibbs, and a host of dear family and friends. John was a professional painter and machine operator at Frigidaire/GM, and retired after 34½ years of faithful service. He also was a SPC E5 in the US Army, was a graduate of Sinclair Community College, attended Wright State University, and was an avid fan of American history. There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends on Saturday, November 7, 2015, at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME ENGLEWOOD CHAPEL, 675 West Wenger Road, starting at 2:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of John’s Life at 3:00 PM, with Pastor James Valekis presiding.
