

CIRESI, Salvatore Joseph, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 20 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospital, after a short illness, just days before his 95th birthday. Sal was born on February 24, 1921 to William and Maria (Geraci) Ciresi in Cleveland, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Teresa (Vecchio) whom he married in 1947 and was married to for 54 years, his father William, mother Maria (Geraci), brothers Anthony (Mary), Joseph (Ginny), James (Lena); sisters Rose (Ben) Lombardo, Effie (Frank) Zingale and Mary (Jack) Fostoria. He was also preceded in death by nieces Libby Germano and Marie Francimore; nephews William Ciresi and James Ciresi. Sal leaves to cherish his memory 2 children Salvatore A. (Carol) Ciresi, Mary Anne (Lynn) Chadbourne, 4 grandchildren: Nicole, Anthony, Teresa and Grace. Also surviving are 4 great-grandchildren, Sophia, Giana, “Little Sal”, Vivienne, Dominic, Luciano, Claire and Amelia. There are also numerous nieces, nephews, special nephew John Ciresi and a special dear friend Dorothy Forsythe. Sal was US Army Veteran serving in WW II as an ambulance driver. Most of his life Sal worked in the food industry as a truck driver. He enjoyed yard work, fishing and was an active member at St. Paul Catholic Church, Englewood, Ohio. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am Saturday, April 30, 2016 at ST. BASIL THE GREAT CATHOLIC CHURCH, 8700 Brecksville Road, Brecksville, Ohio 44140 with Fr. Walter H. Jenne celebrant.
