Herman is survived by his sister, Lois Williams of Palm Desert, CA and his 4 children, Gary Carter of Wakefield, RI, Beverly Graves of Escondido, CA, Mary Maus of Escondido, CA, and Roger Carter of Escondido, CA, 6 Grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Herman was born on 2/17/1925 in Quanah, Texas to Charlie and Lucy Carter (Danford). After moving to California he began working for W.F. Maxwell Construction Co. as a crane operator. He was very proud of his union affiliation and was presented in 2016 an award for a life long membership. a grave side funeral is scheduled for March 28, 2017 at 2pm at Coachella Valley Cemetery.
