Nancy Wicks was born in upstate New York, near Syracuse, and was raised on her beloved St. Lawrence River. She was the youngest of seven children, two brothers and four sisters, her oldest sibling was 20 when she was born. After finishing high school, Nancy married and had four children, Grant, Scott, Nancy and Cora.
While raising her family, she was very close to her siblings, especially her sisters. Summers were spent with her sisters and her sisters’ children at “camp”, in cabins along the many beautiful lakes in upstate New York. She and her sisters played cards nonstop at camp, while the kids played together outside. It was important to have the extended family together.
Eventually, Nancy moved to Las Vegas where she started her own business, serving notices for law firms engaged in the eviction process on behalf of property owners. She was a successful businesswoman, ultimately passing the business on to her oldest daughter, Nancy. Nancy missed her sisters and their families. Sister Jean and her husband sometimes visited Las Vegas where the sisters could play the machines at the casinos and have great fun.
Nancy loved family, upstate New York, Jeopardy, classic movies and the music of her generation, especially Frank Sinatra. She was predeceased by all her siblings, her ex-husbands Michael and Charles, and her youngest daughter Cora. She is survived by Grant (Felice), Scott (Mary), and Nancy, and the grandchildren who brought her great happiness, John, Malia, Michael, Taylor and Marcus. She passed her love of music on to all the grandkids.
