Wanda L. Chestnut

Wanda moved to San Diego County, California 1952 where she lived until 1995. In 1995 she and her husband, Shirlee E. Chestnut moved to Leonard, Texas. She resided in Leonard until the death of her husband Lee. In 2010 she returned to San Diego County.

Wanda retired from the Kmart corporation. She was an active member of the Baptist church. Both West Coast Baptist Church in Vista, California and Cornerstone Baptist Church in Trenton, Texas. She was a true believer in her savior the Lord, Jesus Christ. She dedicated her life to being a good Christian and for decades Wanda and Lee opened their home to many servicemen who were away from home.

Wanda is survived by her brother Jimmie C. Dexter, daughters Tammy E. Chestnut and Linda L. Morgan, step-sons Russell and Vernon Chestnut, grandchildren John J. Clark III, Corey Chestnut, Ashley Chestnut and Joshua Chestnut. Wanda's other son Charles, Skip, Morgan,her sister Jeanette Dexter and her parents preceded her in death.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers that donations in Wanda L. Chestnut's name be made to the Alzheimer's Association at ALZ.org. If you wish to make a donation go to their donation page then tribute. Her memorial page is listed by her name.

Wanda will be laid to rest with her husband Lee at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego, California on December 4, 2014 at 11am.
