Wayne and Mary Junior

A.B. Davis and Ladell Love Davis. She was one of 11 kids, 4 boys and 7 girls, with her being a

middle daughter. They remained close throughout the years, especially the sisters. They took

turns hosting their annual sister weekend in different cities across the country. Mary was

preceded by eight of siblings in death.

Mary’s family moved from Dermott to Kenosha when she was a child where she attended and

graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School.

After high school she began her career in medical billing, starting with Blue Cross, where she

remained until she later married and moved to California.

She always had a love for children and often took her nieces and nephews on fun adventures

on the weekend.

Wayne Fredrick Junior was born January 21, 1944 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the union of John

Brown Junior and Flora Byrd Junior. He was the youngest son of 4 children, 3 boys and 1 girl.

His older brother, Clarence, preceded him in death.

He grew up in Milwaukee where he attended and graduated from North Division High School.

After graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corp where he served from 1961-1965.

Wayne worked different jobs alongside his older brother, Jamel, but always had a passion for

singing. He continued this passion until the very end and would often sing for his ICU nurses.

Mary and Wayne met in 1983 and married June 30, 1984. They soon moved to California where

they both eventually started careers at The University of Southern California where they both

later retired.

During their marriage they served their church together, raised their family together which

consisted of 6 daughters and 1 son between the both of them. Brittanica Henderson preceded

them in death. They also traveled the world together. They went on over 40 cruises and

countless other trips that spanned the entire globe.

They were truly inseparable. So much so that they both decided to part their earthly home

together on August 8, 2023. This is a love story that will be talked about for generations to

come.

Cherishing their memories are Mary’s siblings: Erma Wilson, Georgia Smith and Lorenzo Davis;

Wayne’s siblings: Jamel Madahalli and Elaine Tartt; Their children: Renita McNeil (Jermaine),

ReShun Davis (Cassandra), Kenyatta Jackson, Angela Jones, Varnette Mone Conners (Steve), and

Ameenah Junior; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews,

godchildren and friends.
